Michael’s Oct Update
Firstly; Thank you for your ongoing interest in ReefFloat, the EPS foam free float for pontoons. My name is Michael Glanville and I am working alongside Toby to bring ReefFloat to market. If you don't know me already, I have over 26 years experience in the marina industry, working with some of the largest and most well known marina operators and marina services businesses in the UK, Europe and further afield.
ReefFloat as a product and ReefFloat as a business has taken several leaps forward in recent months and Toby and I wanted to take this opportunity to give you a bit of an update following which I would be delighted to schedule a call or meeting with you to talk further.
Awards - A global discussion about removing EPS from the marine environment
As well as the runner-up award for innovation in the DAME awards at METS, we have also been awarded the industry voted Innovation Award at Marina26 in Australia. The theme for Marinas 26 was “Future smart” and the need to be aware of changing environmental pressures, legislation updates and future global marina industry liabilities. It was fantastic to have ReefFloat recognised as a pioneer in addressing these future challenges. We hope to secure more awards during our next phase of development, so watch this space, I am delighted to attach a link to my presentation at Marinas 26 for your review.
Technology development and long term product warrantee
Developing the ReefFloat technology has been critical for manufacturing a sustainable and strong, comprehensively tested and warranted product, to provide marina owners / operators and marina manufacturers worldwide with confidence in buoyancy, freeboard, design life and future disposal options. This development is ongoing, and we are delighted to be working closely with our supplier, multinational concrete manufacturer Holcim. The testing programme, which is well underway, includes lab and in water / in service static and destructive testing and further information about the testing regime and expected targets / outcomes can be obtained from us directly.
Pilot floats and the ReefFloat early adopter scheme
Our first pilot float located in Falmouth Harbour UK has now been in the water for over a year without any loss of buoyancy or skin deterioration and we are about to manufacture 20 more pilot floats to be distributed around the UK and further afield, including across some of the UK’s major marina operators. Thank you to all those who have registered interest in having a pilot float at their marina or local floating facility. As part of this extensive progress, we have commenced an early adopter scheme for marinas with existing damaged EPS foam floats, replacing them, in most cases, in situ with ReefFloat's at a market leading price. As an early adopter, not only would you be improving your environmental credibility by replacing environmentally damaging floats with ReefFloat's, you will also benefit from being part of our worldwide marketing campaign and customer feedback programme. If you would like to know more about being an early adopter then contact michael@reeffloat.co.uk
Investors, LOI's partnerships and growth
Working with advisors and investors ReefFloat has an investment ready business plan, ready to scale operations across the world in mid to late 2027. We are already signing LOIs and early-stage agreements with both manufacturers and marinas keen to use ReefFloat when it's ready.
I would be delighted to arrange a follow up or introductory call and can be contacted by responding to this email, calling me directly on 07480 770961 or by visiting the ReefFloat website at www.reeffloat.co.uk
